What is Essential Driver Training
Essential Driver Training (EDT) is a mandatory training course that teaches fundamental driving skills to learner car drivers. It is part of the RSA’s Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) scheme and is intended to improve road safety.
EDT is only part of the learning process, you will need lots of practice and may need more lessons to become a safe driver.
Your Essential Driver Training Logbook
On your first EDT lesson we will provide you with your logbook . Your logbook is important document that records your learning journey . You can only get your logbook from your Approved Driving Instructor. The logbook is provided for free as part of your first lesson with Bray Driving School
How long does it take to do Essential Driver Training in Bray?
The guidelines suggest that every lesson is taken with at least a two week gap. This is not a steadfast rule and as such you can complete the lessons in a shorter period of time. There is a question as to how this would benefit people as they have tio wait 6 months from the issue date of your fist Learner Permit to sit a test. It is also a requirement to have completed the Essential Driver Training before you will be issued a Driving Trest
